Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, Inc. is sponsoring the 5th annual ColorFest, Art & Food of Appalachia event, beginning Thursday, September 5 on the streets of Dillsboro.
ColorFest features skilled Western North Carolina artists and raises community awareness of the talented artists in the region.
Beginning Sept. 5, each participating artist is able to display art inside the shops of downtown Dillsboro.
ColorFest activites take place on the streets of Dillsboro on Saturday, Oct. 5. from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The new downtown mural will unveiled at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Artists have the opportunity to display their art creations on the streets of Dillsboro and interact with the visitors to the festival.
“We expect the annual Colorfest to be hugely successful based on past year’s attendance,” said Dillsboro Merchant Association President Lisa Potts. “It’s an awesome fit for Dillsboro. It makes Dillsboro a fine art destination.”
ColorFest, Art & Food of Appalachia is produced by Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, Inc. with support from the Dillsboro Merchants Association, Jackson County Visual Arts Association, the Jackson County Arts Council and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to the displays, artists will demonstrate how to craft art and will also include how to make various foods. Mountain music and clogging will also be on display.
